Description:

Origins
Callas, which are often referred to as calla lilies, are actually unrelated to the Lilium family. Instead, they're members of the Araceae family, which includes anthuriums, caladiums and some philodendrons. They're natives of South Africa, where they grow so abundantly that they're viewed as common roadside plants and are called "pig lilies." Their genus, Zantedeschia, is named for 19th century Italian botanist Francesco Zantedeschia. The genus includes six species that have been hybridized to create numerous cultivars.

Vase Life
4-8 days.

Care and Handling
Best kept at room temperature. Callas take in a large amount of water so refill water levels regularly.

Design Uses
The sleek lines of callas are ideal for the simple, line emphasizing techniques in modern design. Well suited for wedding, corsages, and boutonnieres.
